We have been working hard all the summer to improve the design, the features and the usability of Smappo based on the incredible feedbacks we have collected so far from our users.
In the next 36/48 hours, hopefully, we will switch to the new version, as soon as I have finished my check list and turn the green light on.
There are so many improvements in all the core engine, the iphone app, the guest-to-guest and user-to-user connection thing, the community engine, the overall layout.
We’ve been busy applying new Twitter Bootstrap 3 to all Smappo scaffolding, migrating from the previous grid system to this new one more focused on mobile and responsiveness. We’ve updated all the site assets from third parties and fixed our own code.
The result is an astonishing new Smappo, with a slightly different color scheme, a little variation on the logo and a better platform for event management. You will love it.
This is a major new upgrade of Smappo since last year and this mark a new future to me, something I really believe in and I want it to become a success in the months to come.
Meanwhile the front-end was under a new make over process, the new iphone App (here the link to download) was released with a stunning new feature, the Smappo Connect. It simply lets you connect to other users by using our engine. Just scan someone else Smappo Personal QR Code and you will start following him/her (plus social links). This will improve your experience at the event, where you can connect easily to other guests with a simple task (this is why all events should be organized by Smappo!).
We’ve applied the last version of Facebook Connect SDK, to improve the user experience in the login and registration process, so you can choose to speed up the log in operations at any time.
All this new creativity in the last weeks lead me to improve the Community engine. Smappo is now a powerful community social calendar, a real place to share events, where your friends will become your community members and embed your social calendar in your Facebook page or websites. You can keep track of the activities in your community (insights) and create great social calendars to share everywhere, collect events all around and have people partecipate and share events on the same interests.
In the next hours we plan to switch to new version, so we can start to make some marketing campaigns and let people know about this new Smappo upgrade. I am really thrilling about the months to come as it is another big challenge for Smappo, for me, the whole team, the lovely people who helped us debugging new features on the mobile app and most important, the people who believe in us. We call them our users.
As soon as I’m done with my check-list and all the hand-writed notes on my whiteboard, I will release the new Smappo. I know it won’t be bug free and in the following hours and days we will work to fix some minor bugs, but I truly believe in “now is better than perfect”.
Meanwhile, this is just a little preview of the new homepage. Like it?
May the force be with you,
